First, let's establish what it is we're talking about so there's no confusion. I have a picture which I think sums it up pretty well:

First of all, if you haven't discovered the world of wonder that is Gintama, get the hell out of here and start watching it. It fucking owns. Anyway, this is a perfect example of one of those situations where the misunderstanding is far more funny than reality, which is why you might as well give up trying to explain it. In fact, if you do try to tell them what really happened, they'll think you're just making excuses, and they'll find it even more amusing. And then you'll never hear the end of it. Humans are disgusting creatures, and if you give them any reason to think that it will make you unconfortable if they keep bringing it up, you can be damn sure that they will. Never show them any weakness.
Anyway, that's all. I just felt like I had to share that thought.

I agree, mankind is a spiral of destruction that will imminently lead to a future much like that depicted in Literature as "Dystopia".
Everything mankind creates, in turn destroys.
We are all barbaric, evil, individuals. Even the most compassionate of human deep down gains joy from another mans pain.
It's a sick situation, but it's just how mankind is, at one point in time we were pure and one with our earth, now look at us.
Anyhow another interesting take on things. If I ever get my Blog up & Running again, I seriously would enjoy you being a publisher. ^_^ Our views are just to similar!
