Senpai-sama-sama fangirls...

Is a term that I think should be used more often when discussing anime. Because we all know who they are, and we're all annoyed by them aren't we? The typical senpai-sama-sama fangirl type would be the underclassman who, for varying reasons, absolutely adores a girl from a higher grade. These reasons include prowess in phys. ed., intelligence, cool demeanor, etc.
You know, it's the group of screaming bitches always standing on the sidelines, cheering far too loudly for the senpai in question as she does her thing during phys. ed. And they then fight amongst themselves over who gets to lend the senpai their towel. "Here senpai, please use this towel!" The obvious stupidity of this aside, the senpai-sama-sama fangirls often act as a hindrance to the senpai having any sort of relationship with other people (boys in particular). Plainly speaking, they're hogging the senpai all to themselves.

Being a huge opponent of blind admiration I find senpai-sama-sama fangirlism to be extremely annoying. Add to that the fact that they're actively working to isolate the girl from others for their own personal gain, and you've got yourself a truly infuriating phenomenon. Now, one can for the most part laugh this away, since the fangirls rarely follow the girl arouind all the time, and are only present in relatively few scenes of the anime. Much worse is it when a recurring character possesses these traits.

For there exists a variation of this phenomenon, which can manifest itself in a single character - most often a younger sister of a female lead. This character type shall henceforth be referred to as the onee-sama-sama brat. Frequently used in love comedies, we see the onee-sama-sama brat acting all sweet and lovely when the female lead is around, only to openly threaten the life of the male lead when onee-sama isn't watching. Turning out to be grown up beyond appearance, and wanting nothing more than to break up the relationship that is developing between lovelorn male character A and thickheaded but lovable female character B, the onee-sama-sama brat is actually counter-productive to the plot of the anime. This character type really is the worst possible carrier of the senpai-sama-sama trait since she will, with pretty much 100% certainty, stick close to the female lead constantly from the first episode to the last.
